Australian exploration company WA1 Resources (ASX:WA1) reports reconnaissance drilling is continuing to progress at the West Arunta Project in Western Australia.
The company says 17 reverse circulation (RC) holes have now been completed at the Luni carbonatite. However, drilling has been temporarily paused due to the inclement weather expected to pass through the region in the coming days, and will restart when permissible.
As previously advised, samples from key intervals within the first 3 drillholes at Luni were submitted to ALS Laboratories. WA1 says assay results from these holes are expected to be received this month.
The company also reports 2 further batches of samples from later drillholes have left the site.

During WA1’s maiden exploration RC drilling program completed in August 2022, the Luni and P2 targeted were identified as being niobium-rare earth element (REE) mineralised carbonatites with ‘high-grade’ niobium, elevated REEs, and tantalum drill intercepts.
The West Arunta Project is located about 490km south of Halls Creek in Western Australia, and 550km to the west of Alice Springs. The project comprises the Pachpadra, Sambhar, and Urmia prospect areas within a granted exploration licence.
WA1 Resources is an Australian exploration company focused on discovering a tier one deposit in Western Australia’s unexplored regions.
The company’s portfolio of projects include the West Arunta Projects where a mineralised carbonatite was discovered in October 2022, the Madura Projects where large greenfield geophysical anomalies are requiring further work, and the Hidden Valley Project which hosts ‘significant’ untested anomalies along strike from IGO (ASX:IGO).
