After compiling and assessing data, TechGen Metals (ASX:TG1) is planning several activities to rapidly identify targets for drill testing at the Blue Devil Project in Western Australia.
An independent expert geochemist compiled and assessed previous soil, stream sediment, and rock chip sampling data from Blue Devil, which indicates several high priority target areas.
As a result, TechGen is planning to undertake geological mapping, rock chip sampling, mineral x-ray diffraction analysis, and a geophysics program at the project.
Managing Director Ashley Hood says following a short field visit, the company believes the project has “significant” potential with multiple styles of mineralisation being recorded containing copper, gold, silver, lead, and zinc, along with associated pathfinder elements.
“Historically, the entire Blue Devil Project has not received the systematic exploration work required to fully assess its potential,” Hood says.
“Most importantly to the company, no geophysics surveys have ever been completed on this exciting project. Geophysics is currently being planned for the Blue Devil Project.
“This initiative, focusing on the numerous copper, gold, and sulphur rich gossans, will provide the company with a significant first-mover advantage in a renowned mineralised district with the latest and most advanced geophysics techniques available.”
In July, the company completed a short field visit in the northern project area and collected six rock chip samples.
Rock chip assays returned up to 18.5 grams per tonne gold and 24.9% copper. Both of these samples also contained anomalous silver values.
The Blue Devil Project sits 45km east-northeast of Halls Creek in Western Australia. The project comprises predominantly outcrops of the Olympio Formation of the Halls Creek Group.
