TechGen Metals (ASX:TG1) has extended the mineralised Red Devil shear zone to approximately 1.8km at the Blue Devil Copper-Gold Project in Western Australia.
The company says recent geological mapping identified copper mineralisation in iron and quartz-rich gossanous outcrop, with rock chip assays of up to 42.6% copper (Cu) and 4.56 grams per tonne gold (Au) ahead of maiden drilling and nine of 14 samples returning assays above 1% copper.
“These new results continue to strengthen our confidence that Red Devil is part of a copper-gold mineral system, with imminent drilling having the final say,” Managing Director Ashley Hood says.
“Extending the mineralised trend to approximately 1.8 kilometres immediately ahead of our maiden drilling is exactly the type of result we were hoping to see.”
According to the company, the best copper results include 42.6%, 38.3%, 36.2%, and 30.6% copper from the 16 rock chip samples collected during late June mapping.
TechGen has identified two drill-ready targets at the 100%-owned Blue Devil Project, which covers 195km2 across exploration licences in the Halls Creek Orogen.
Red Devil hosts a high-intensity IP chargeability feature of 30–35 millivolts per volt (mV/V) within a broader zone of 20mV/V, supported by surface rock chip results, including historical assays of up to 52.3% Cu and 5.35 g/t Au.
The company has completed Programme of Work approvals and heritage surveys for maiden drill testing of both targets.
Blue Devil comprises three strong airborne electromagnetic conductors coincident with multiple copper and gold geochemical anomalies, sitting approximately 150m above an interpreted magnetic intrusion.
TG1 expects near-term news flow to include drill contractor mobilisation, commencement of maiden drilling and pending assay results.
