Sunshine Metals (ASX:SHN) is set to begin a diamond drilling program, with clearing of historical access tracks underway at the Francis Creek deposit within the Sybil Project in Queensland.
The 16-hole for 1,000m program is set to begin this month, with drilling results expected to be returned between September and October.
Drilling will test the A and Main Vein targets at Francis Creek.
Managing Director Damien Keys says the team has been working hard to bring Sybil closer to drill readiness.
“A surveyor has provided a detailed topographic map and historical hole pick ups that allow us to refine our geological model and plan the upcoming diamond drill program,” Keys says.
Sunshine is also conducting a broader fieldwork within the Ravenswood Consolidated Project, with initial mapping and sampling being carried out at the Francis Creek East, Blue Range, and Burdekin Veins deposits.
In these areas, increasing arsenic and antimony in sampling suggests exposure of the upper epithermal boiling zone and a thickening of the prospective stratigraphy.
Rock chip sample results have returned grades up to 23.40 grams per tonne gold.
Sybil is located 135km west of Townsville and sits on a large more than 40km-long extensional structure infilled with permian-carboniferous volcanics. Sunshine’s tenure covers the north of the structure and encompasses the shallowest portion of the low-sulphidation system.
