Stockworks Gold (TSX-V:STW) has commenced detailed soil geochemical exploration at its Pirenópolis Gold Project in Brazil, following stream sediment results of up to 6.38 grams per tonne gold.
The survey aims to trace the source of the stream sediment samples. Another aim is to define priority drill targets at the 100%-owned project in Brazil’s Goiás state.
Previous stream sediment programs returned anomalous gold values in two parallel drainages 1–1.5km apart.
Follow-up sampling in both drainages narrowed the potential source area, as anomalous gold values persisted upstream before terminating. The company says the pattern suggests the bedrock source lies within the immediate upstream catchment area.
Soil sampling will collect samples in a grid pattern both laterally and between the two streams to identify elevated gold-in-soil and associated pathfinder elements.
The interpreted source area coincides with a large, regional-scale magnetic feature identified from the company’s recently completed high-resolution drone magnetic survey.
The company has identified a second gold-in-stream anomaly on the property, with assays up to 0.94g/t gold. It exhibits a different geochemical signature from the primary target area, suggesting a separate style or source of mineralisation.
In parallel with the geochemical campaign, Stockworks will prospect the drainages for additional mineralised float boulders and cobbles. The focus area will be near the 6.38g/t gold sample location.
The company expects that results from the soil survey, integrated with the drone magnetic data, will define priority drill targets for the company’s maiden drilling campaign at Pirenópolis.
Stockworks Gold is a Canadian gold explorer focused on early-stage projects in Brazil.
