Spartan Resources announce multiple wide, high-grade intercepts at Never Never, Pepper

Spartan strikes up to 126 grams per tonne gold at Dalgaranga

Spartan Resources (ASX:SPR) has returned up to 126 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from the final batch of infill and extensional assays from the first half of the 2024 drilling program at the Dalgaranga Gold Project in Western Australia.

Assays were received from the Pepper prospect and Never Never deposit, returning 13.5m @ 4.47g/t gold from 679.5m, including 0.5m @ 73.04g/t gold; and 10.14m @ 11.26g/t gold from 966.9m, including 0.77m @ 126.45g/t gold.

Managing Director Simon Lawson says the latest results demonstrate the potential of what the company has found right in front of the processing plant at Dalgaranga.

“With the Never Never gold deposit we have really shown what can happen with a change in mindset, and the more recent discovery of the Pepper gold prospect has demonstrated that we are really onto something very special in this under-explored greenstone belt,” he says.

“Our drill teams are taking a well-earned rest at the moment, while we catch up on the frantic pace of drilling and discovery.”

Lawson adds Spartan’s geology team is finalising an updated resource estimate to collate its drilling efforts in the first half of this calendar year.

“While we take a brief drilling hiatus, we are planning and prioritising our second-half exploration program so that we can increase our momentum and keep driving the Spartan juggernaut forward.”

The announcement comes on the back of news last month that fellow Australian gold producer Ramelius Resources (ASX:RMS) has purchased an 8.9% interest in Spartan.

The Dalgaranga Project produced more than 70,000 ounces of gold in the financial year 2022, before being placed on care and maintenance in November 2022.
