Soma mindful of Psyche 2’s copper anomaly

Soma Gold (TSX-V:SOMA) has extended a copper soil anomaly by 2.5km in a soil sampling program at the Psyche 2 target within the Machuca Project in Colombia.

This extension has brought the anomaly’s total length to 4.5km from an additional 510 samples collected earlier in the year in 50m intervals along lines spaced 200m apart.

Soma has collated a total of 1,394 soil samples at Psyche 2 to extend the grid, covering the entire north-south trending strike extent of the magnetic anomaly, with an average width of 325m.

The company has received assays from 1,291 samples, still awaiting multi-element results from the remaining 103 samples.

Results have returned concentrations of up to 7,605 parts per billion gold and 795 parts per million copper.

Vice President of Exploration Chris Buchanan says the continuation of the copper anomaly is an “important development” for Soma and the Psyche 2 target.

“Our team has been mapping and prospecting to determine the geological nature of this significant soil anomaly,” Buchanan says.

“We are looking forward to initiating the maiden diamond drill program further to investigate the underlying geology of the soil anomaly.”

Soma Gold is a gold producer focused on developing its two adjacent mining properties in Antioquia, Colombia.
