Silver Pony Resources (CSE:PONY) has reported ‘high-grade’ gold results from surface sampling at its Silver Pony Project in British Columbia, Canada.
Grab samples from historic workings on the Ophir-Lade target returned 103 grams per tonne gold (Au) and 40g/t Au. Off the 11 samples analysed, five returned greater than 100 parts per billion gold across four separate target areas.
VP of Exploration Chris Furey says the preliminary results are encouraging.
“The mapping crew returned approximately 103 and approximately 40g/t Au from the grab samples at the Ophir-Lade working,” Furey adds.
The ‘highest-grade’ sample came from a quartz vein in a schist host with semi-massive sulphides and pyrite. The 40g/t sample was collected from a milky-white quartz vein in a phyllite host with abundant pyrite.
The company has completed three diamond drill holes totalling 1,012.87m at the Black Warrior and Old Gold targets. A fourth hole is expected to bring the programme to approximately 1,225m.
Hole SP26-003 returned anomalous zinc, copper, and sulphur over approximately 30m in a crushed, calcite-veined interval logged as tectonically brecciated black slate cemented by hydrothermal quartz and calcite.
Silver Pony is mobilising a drill to the Revelstoke trend, where surface mineralisation extends over at least 1.1km. Historic work on the trend reported a trench grab sample of 49% lead (Pb) and 475g/t silver (Ag), and hand-sorted ore grading up to 56% Pb and 549g/t Ag.
Core from completed holes has been submitted to Activation Laboratories, with assay results expected over the coming months.
The Silver Pony Project covers approximately 37,000 hectares in southeastern British Columbia, within the Slocan and Revelstoke mining districts.
The project hosts multiple target areas, including the Black Warrior silver-lead-zinc target, the Old Gold copper-silver target, the Revelstoke carbonate replacement trend, and the Ophir-Lade orogenic gold prospect.
Silver Pony Resources is a Canadian explorer which holds a portfolio of silver, gold, lead, and zinc projects across British Columbia, including the Quesnel Gold Project and the Nicola East Mining Project.
