Rumble Resources (ASX:RTR) has revised its Western Queen Project’s resource estimate higher by almost 30% to 3.72 million tonnes @ 3.1 grams per tonne gold for 370,000 ounces.
The updated resource includes 8,205m of reverse circulation and 2,453m of diamond drilling results. The drilling focused on targeting new and extending existing south plunging mineralised positions at the Western Queen South and Princess deposits.
As a result, a 75% increase in the inferred resource was achieved to 2.4 million tonnes @ 2.8g/t gold for 217,800 ounces.
The deposits remain open along strike and at depth. Rumble believes additional drilling will further grow the gold resources at Western Queen.
Further drilling programs are being planned to extend mineralisation at depth, as well as to convert a portion of the new inferred resource to the indicated status.
CEO Peter Harold says the work completed to date has shown that there is more value in the Western Queen gold resource.
“The re-interpretation that the team did as part of the work to look at the underground mining option, as well as the inclusion of the intersections from the last two drill programs has made a big difference to the reported grade and contained gold especially at Western Queen South where the indicated resource grade has increased from 1.8g/t to 3g/t gold,” Harold says.
“The priority now is to compare the economics of the proposed open pit project with what an underground operation may return.”
The Western Queen Project sits in the Mt Magnet region of Western Australia and has three nearby operating gold mills. The closest mill is the Dalgaranga Mill which has a capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per year.
