Red Mountain completes drilling program at Mt Mansbridge Project on time

Red Mountain Mining (ASX:RMX) reports that it has successfully completed a reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at its flagship Mt Mansbridge Heavy Rare Earth and Nickel-Cobalt-PGE Project in Western Australia.

The RC drilling campaign, comprising 7 RC drill holes for a total 1,115m, followed up and tested previous drilling at the Deja Vu and Solo prospects to validate previously delivered heavy rare earth element (HREE) and Ni-Cu-Co intercepts, and test for additional extensions of known mineralisation.

Commenting on the drilling, Red Mountain Non-Executive Chairman Troy Flannery stated: “The phase two drilling program has now been completed at Mt Mansbridge on time and as planned to test several targets, where there is historical drilling with anomalous rare earth and cobalt values identified in previous RC drill holes.

The company also notes that maiden drillhole observations from within the Cow Creek prospect verify the existence of a large/ultramafic intrusive complex within the prospect area.

In addition, visual inspections from within the Deja Vu prospect drillhole display strong signs of hydrothermal alteration, with the identified isolated mineralisation containing pyrite and small amounts of some disseminated pentlandite.

Red Mountain has also successfully completed a follow-up maiden grab sampling campaign at its Boba Fett Prospect, which has returned the existence of an isolated outcrop consisting of rich hematite and goethite ironstone.

The Mt Maitland Gold Project is located about 90km north of the township of Meekatharra in the Murchison Goldfield of Western Australia and comprises two mineralised shear zones over a strike length of 19km.

The majority of the project remains largely untested and has undergone limited drill testing, however the project area remains prospective for REE and Ni-Cu-Co mineralisation.

With the recent RC drilling campaign, as well as follow-up test work now complete, Red Mountain announces that all gathered samples are being processed and on route to the laboratory for assaying.
