Red Mountain Mining (ASX:RMX) has commenced its maiden reverse circulation drilling program at the Armidale Antimony‑Gold Project in New South Wales.
The company plans to drill 17 holes over approximately three weeks to test priority targets at the Oaky Creek prospect, with assays expected early next quarter.
Drilling targets were defined through extensive surface geochemical sampling that returned rock chip results up to 39.3% antimony and 1.09 grams per tonne gold.
Oaky Creek represents Red Mountain’s most advanced target within the 391km2 project, located in the Southern New England Orogen considered Australia’s premier antimony province.
The prospect features a 3km strike extent of orogenic antimony‑gold mineralisation analogous to Larvotto Resources’ (ASX:LRV) Hillgrove Project.
Drilling will test the coherent 300m by 30m Oaky Creek South Main Grid antimony‑arsenic soil anomaly, historical workings, and outcropping veins at Oaky Creek North.
Red Mountain’s sampling campaigns across Oaky Creek have returned multiple rock chip samples exceeding 25% antimony across five different areas.
The results show strong spatial correlation between mineralised rock samples and soil anomalies, indicating a significant orogenic antimony system with 3km strike extent.
In July 2026, the company reported results from a trial induced polarisation survey over Oaky Creek South.
Modelling revealed a coherent chargeability anomaly trending north‑northeast to south‑southwest and dipping steeply to the southeast. The anomaly extends from surface to at least 200m depth over a 400m strike length.
This significantly increases the target size compared to the 120m of surface vein mineralisation previously identified.
The Armidale Project lies along an extensive 85km length on the western side of the Peel Fault. The fault is recognised for its world‑class mineral potential, with over 400 known orogenic gold and base metal occurrences along its 400km strike extent.
Red Mountain Mining is an Australian critical minerals and gold explorer advancing a diversified portfolio spanning Australia and Canada and multiple antimony, lithium, and tungsten projects across the US.
