Raiden Resources to kick off metallurgical testwork on 2022 drill core at Mt Sholl Project, WA

Dual-listed explorer and developer Raiden Resources (ASX:RDN) has appointed private firm Strategic Metallurgy to begin metallurgical testwork 2022 drill core from the Mt Sholl Project in Western Australia.

The $20.55-million-market-capitalisation says the initial metallurgical testwork will focus on establishing a preliminary economic processing flowsheet from the deposits at its Mt Sholl Ni-Cu-PGE Project.

The testwork will also evaluate the optimal path to recover the ‘significant’ PGE by-products in the process.

Raiden intends to provide 5kg to 10kg of concentrate material, which meets the specifications required to evaluate the potential for nickel sulphate production.

Commenting on metallurgical testwork, Raiden Resources Managing Director Dusko Ljubojevic says: “This initial metallurgical program will look to further improve and optimise the process from the historical work undertaken on Mt Sholl by previous operators and hopefully further improve the recoveries and grades of the concentrate.

A positive outcome in this exercise will significantly propel the Mt Sholl Project in terms of prospectivity”

A positive outcome in this exercise will significantly propel the Mt Sholl Project in terms of prospectivity and may allow us to evaluate some of the lower-grade segments of the deposit while continuing to expand on the high-grade mineralisation.

Furthermore, if the characteristics of the concentrate permit, we will be looking to generate further value by evaluating the beneficiation process and production of a battery-grade nickel sulphate product.”

The company adds that Strategic Metallurgy was involved in the process flowsheet development and metallurgical testwork for Azure Minerals’ (ASX:AZS) Andover Ni-Cu Project, located 18km east of Mt Sholl.

Raiden Resources is an energy metal and gold exploration company focused on exploring and developing the Mt Sholl Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

As of 31 March 2023, the company had $135,000 cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report published on 14 April 2023, though Raiden launched a $1.84 million capital raise in April.
