PolarX (ASX:PXX) reports that it has received extensive gold and silver assay results following a recent channel traverse sampling program at the Golden Staircase prospect, as part of its Black Canyon Project in Nevada, US.
The recent sampling program was conducted along three continuous saw-cut channel traverses hosted within the Golden Staircase prospect, with the traverses ranging from 120m to 200m in length.
The results have returned wide gold and silver intervals including ‘high-grade’ zones, with key intercepts including 51m at 1.24g/t Au, 8.3g/t Ag, incl. 3m at 9.62g/t Au, 60.75g/t Ag, and 18m at 0.71g/t Au, 5.82g/t Ag incl. 7.5m @ 1.05g/t Au.
The Golden Staircase prospect sits at one end of a 2.8km long soil anomaly and is also host to the Star Canyon prospect, which has returned a ‘bonanza’ assay of 9.1m @ 124.36g/t Au and 48.6g/t Ag within a potentially bulk mineable Carlin-style host system.
These results have given way to the commencement of channel cut traverses, which are currently underway at the nearby Ridgeline Target.

PolarX also notes that it tested the Golden Staircase target due to its coincidence with strongly anomalous gold-in-soil sampling results, as well as previous gold-rich rock-chip samples of up to 4.5g/t Au and its association with intense vein swarms exposed in rocky rhyolite outcrops.
In addition, the sampled traverses are reportedly linked and combine to form a 69m long mineralised surface interval, which overlooks and compares to grades observed from the nearby 5Moz Florida Canyon Gold Mine.
The Black Canyon Project is located in the northern end of Nevada states Humboldt Ranges and offers easy access via roads off of the nearby interstate highway, which lies only 15km to the west of the mining area. The project is also host to very large coherent anomalies, highlighted by exceptionally ‘high-grade’ assays from soil sampling activities and ranging from 1.3km to 2.3km in length. These anomalies are coincident with mapped geological structures and known mineralised quartz veins.
With results from the recent channel traverse sample program now returned, PolarX announces that it remains focused on undertaking additional sampling and drilling to test the remaining mineralised anomaly.
