PolarX (ASX:PXX) reports diamond drilling assays reaching 9.80% copper (Cu) over 24.8m at its Caribou Dome Project in Alaska, US.
Assays from hole CD26-007 returned 24.8m @ 9.80% Cu and 14.5 grams per tonne silver (Ag) from 2.4m, including higher-grade intervals of 4.9m @ 13.60% Cu and 20.4g/t Ag from 6.6m.
Hole CD26-004 intersected 22.6m @ 8.10% Cu and 13.5g/t Ag from 3.7m, including 5.8m @ 12.40% Cu and 21.3g/t Ag from 11.1m.
PolarX notes the modern twin holes demonstrate higher grades over extended widths compared to 1960s historical drilling. The company plans to systematically re-assay historical pulps, which could increase the average mineral resource estimate (MRE) grade.
Another drill hole, CD26-003, hit 0.3m @ 3.50% Cu and 4g/t Ag from 453.7m, extending mineralisation to 500m below surface — a 170m extension beneath the current MRE.
Mineralisation at Caribou Dome spans 800m of strike and remains open below 300m depth.
Caribou Dome contains a JORC-compliant resource of 224,375 tonnes of copper at 3.10% Cu and 6.5g/t Ag across 7.2 million tonnes. The nearby Zackly deposit holds 45,000 tonnes of contained copper and 213,000 ounces of contained gold.
The project forms part of a joint venture with Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) via the Alaska Range joint venture. The 2026 campaign is fully funded by Northern Star and will be completed by the end of this month (September 2026), with a further estimated 1,700m of drilling scheduled this season.
PolarX holds a beneficial interest of 60% in Caribou Dome.
