PMT Refinery witnesses ‘strong’ interest ahead of Australian Gold Conference

Queensland-based PMT Refinery says demand for gold remains high and it is seeing an increase in interest from miners as they look to maximise their output.

“PMT Refinery is observing a strong and consistent level of interest from miners in its gold refining services,” director Jeremy Reid tells Mining.com.au

“The demand for gold remains high, driven by various factors like global economic uncertainty, inflation concerns, and the role of gold as a hedge against market volatility.

“As miners seek reliable partners for refining and selling their gold, companies like PMT Refinery, which offer specialised and trusted services, are well-positioned to attract and maintain interest from mining operations.

“The company has also seen an increase in inquiries or partnerships as miners look to optimise their supply chain and maximise the value of their gold production.”

PMT Refinery is a sponsor of this year’s Australian Gold Conference being held at the Crown Towers in Sydney from 26-28 August 2024 and is utilising the platform to increase brand visibility, connect with industry professionals, and foster business growth.

The company refines, recovers and assays gold, and recently achieved NATA Accreditation for its laboratory, which means the organisation is compliant with relevant national and international standards relating to measurement, testing, calibration and inspection.

PMT Refinery has also partnered with the Singapore Precious Metals Exchange to provide offshore vaulting and a secure option for asset transfers.

“We have seen a noticeable increase in interest from miners, particularly from Queensland, as more mining operations in the region have become aware of the company’s presence and capabilities,” Reid says.

Reid says one of the aims of attending the Australian Gold Conference is to gain insights into the latest trends, challenges, and innovations within the gold and precious metals industry.

Close to 1,000 delegates are attending the conference, which is in its 14th year.

This year’s event aims to provide greater insight on the importance of gold and silver in protecting wealth in addition to providing attendees a closer look at some of the companies in the space.

Australian Gold Conference founder and CEO Kerry Stevenson told Mining.com.au earlier this week that the agenda this year is focused on precious metals as wealth protection, whether that is equities, physical gold or ETFs.

She says attendees can expect more panel discussions focusing on what to look for and the challenges, risks and opportunities, as well as the bigger picture around gold.

The conference includes a free special event on Monday 26 August aimed at introducing Australians to the potential of investing in gold beyond traditional avenues, focusing on the shift from culturally influenced jewellery to modern bullion, shares and digital gold products.
