Pilbara Gold (ASX:PGL) is preparing to commence up to 12,000m of resource drilling at its Roe Hills Gold Project near Kalgoorlie in July and August.
The company has completed Aboriginal heritage surveys over the Terra and Caliburn prospects, with the Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation approving drilling activities.
Terra comprises more than 1,800m of bedrock mineralisation, and Caliburn more than 900m — both remaining open in all directions. Previous drilling at Terra returned 35m @ 1.00 grams per tonne gold from 116.5m and 23m @ 1.43g/t gold from 104m.
Located 4km southeast along strike from Terra, Caliburn has delivered historic results, including 22m @ 1.55g/t gold from 144m and 54m @ 0.74g/t gold from 10m, including 16m @ 1.02g/t gold from 20m.
“Examination of [the] historic core shows similarities in geology and alteration to the nearby giant St Ives gold operation, and we can’t wait to see how big the project can be as we embark on drilling,” Managing Director Peter Turner says.
The staged drilling program comprises up to 57 holes for 12,200m — 46 holes at Terra across 18 fences and 11 holes at Caliburn across three. Drilling will test mineralisation continuity along a 2km strike at Terra and approximately 1km at Caliburn.
The program aims to extend mineralisation beyond known bedrock zones to the north, south, and at depth at both prospects, with earthmoving equipment for drill access set to mobilise in the coming weeks.
Pilbara Gold targets a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) at Roe Hills towards the end of 2026 or early 2027, with the aim of completing all drilling operations within two months, followed by wireframing of geological and mineralised domains ahead of the MRE.
The Roe Hills Gold Project sits 100km east of Kalgoorlie and 50km east of Vault Minerals’ (ASX:VAU) Mt Monger gold operations, including the Randalls Processing Plant.
