Petratherm’s Rosewood boosts recoveries opportunities

Petratherm (ASX:PTR) has identified opportunities where changes to the flowsheet may result in further improvements to recoveries and product quality of the Rosewood Titanium Heavy Mineral Sands Project in South Australia.

This news comes amid Petratherm conducting ongoing metallurgical testwork which aims to provide a process flowsheet which will inform mineral products and further process plant design works.

Bulk samples are undergoing metallurgical testing by independent Mineral Sand Process Laboratories, IHC Mining, and Mineral Technologies.

Using standard wet separation processing techniques, the grade of the heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) product ranges between 91% and 98% heavy mineral (HM).

Petratherm reports HM recoveries ranged between 85-95% and further improvements may be possible. Meanwhile, ‘very high’ bulk sample head grades range from 12.5% to 15.7% HM, which is considered typical of the Rosewood East mineralisation.

CEO Peter Reid says it is clear Rosewood has “significant” size, given the area and thickness extent of mineralisation.

“The mineralisation remains open and drilling is currently underway to define a maiden indicated and inferred resource outline,” Reid says.

“The metallurgical testwork has now confirmed that ability to achieve strong recoveries and produce a very high-quality titanium product concentrate using conventional separation techniques.”

Rosewood is a titanium-rich mineral sands discovery located within the broader Muckanippie Project in the Gawler Craton of South Australia.

Petratherm is a copper and critical minerals explorer focused on the discovery of deposits in mature mineral provinces.
