Olympio Metals (ASX:OLY) Managing Director Sean Delaney says that this year’s Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) provides an opportunity for the company to chat with neighbouring companies in Québec.
“Our Bousquet Project is surrounded by some significant Canadian companies including Aginco Eagle (NYSE:AEM) and Iamgold (TSX:IMG) and the conference provides a great opportunity to update our neighbours on where we are at with the project,” Delaney tells Mining.com.au.
Olympio Metals has a booth at the event for two days and intends to discuss activities and updates with investors who are interested in gold. The company plans to continue developing Bousquet throughout the year, primarily via drilling.

Delaney says the broader themes of the event this year is likely to surround the rise of gold and silver prices since this time last year and how it relates to geopolitical risks.
Late last week, gold and silver hit another price record for the second time this week, surpassing past US$5,530 ($7,846) and US$119 an ounce, respectively.
Over the past month, gold’s price has risen 6.15% and is up 67.74% compared to the same time last year, as reported by Trading Economics.
“Also lithium has staged a nice comeback in the past 12 months so there should be some positivity,” Delaney adds.
“And not to forget copper’s performance in the last 12 months so I would expect a very positive vibe in the metals space.”
Building through drilling
As reported by Mining.com.au, Olympio is targeting a million ounce potential project at Bousquet. Delaney says that “the region is mature, and we know that the gold is there, so our focus is on building the deposit through drilling”.
What Olympio finds most interesting about Bousquet is the location of various geological disturbances and that these are not linear.
Exploration geologist Martin Demers explains how there’s the original break, which runs east to west, but there are also a lot of geological features crosscutting this break. These types of cross-cutting features have been associated with other discoveries, including Agnico’s now-closed Lapa Mine.
The Cadillac Break is not just a single structure, but, and this is noted within the Bousquet property, it is made up of layers of stacking of various gold-bearing structures.
PDAC will take place from 1-4 March 2026 in Toronto, Canada. The convention brings together more than 27,000 attendees from over 125 countries for its educational programs, networking events and business opportunities.
Mining.com.au is a media partner for this year’s event and will be in attendance.
