Opawica streamlines phase two at Arrowhead

Opawica Explorations (TSX-V:OPW) is preparing for phase two of drilling at its Arrowhead property after completing a recent program at the Bazooka property.

The company intercepted 19 zones of gold mineralisation over 3,359m of 14 drillholes along the Cadillac-Larder Lake Fault Zone at Bazooka, with intercepts hosted in sericitic alteration of greywacke with arsenopyrite.

Results returned 10m @ 2.15 grams per tonne gold near surface and 67.9m @ 0.84g/t gold including 7.5m @ 3.65g/t gold.

CEO Blake Morgan says the results from phase two at Bazooka are encouraging for the greater property, which is open to the north, south, west, and at depth with 80% undrilled.

“Gold was encountered in every single hole, which is incredibly promising,” Morgan says.

“Our geological team is now observing consistent mineralization continuity across the project, with approximately 7,000m of high-priority targets still to be explored.”

Opawica has deployed 978 samples from 0.5 to 1.5m intervals of mineralisation across a linear area of 1,385.5m for analysis.

The greater drilling program is following up on 59 targets across the two properties previously identified in geological modelling and artificial intelligence driven analysis with ALS’ (ASX:ALQ) wholly owned subsidiary GoldSpot Discoveries.

Areas targeted in the 2025 drilling program spans over 20,000m, with contractors secured for the whole program.

Morgan adds that he is energised by the progress of the Bazooka and Arrowhead properties, which both hold “significant potential and strategic importance” for the company.

“Given today’s strong gold price environment, our solid cash position, and the more than $6 million invested since 2021 across three prior drill programs, we are well positioned for success,” Morgan says.

“Our properties benefit from excellent infrastructure – including road access, water, and hydro-electric power – which helps keep exploration costs competitive. Located within one of the world’s most prolific gold-producing regions, and surrounded by multiple active mines within 7km, these assets offer tremendous upside potential.”

Opawica Explorations is a junior explorer focused on developing its portfolio of precious and base metal projects in Canada.

Meanwhile, artificial intelligence (AI) is giving Opawica a leg up on the exploration front, enabling the company to generate vast datasets and unlock potential new discoveries more quickly. The junior gold explorer is hunting for the next big discovery in Quèbec’s famed Abitibi Greenstone Belt, as reported by Mining.com.au.

Couloir Capital analyst Tim Wright describes the Abitibi as a “remarkable geological setting” given it is the largest mineral-rich greenstone belt on the planet, formed 2.6 billion years ago.

“The region hosts numerous multi-million-ounce gold deposits and operating mine sites and represents one of the most fertile geological domains for gold worldwide,” Wright notes in a recent research report on Opawica.
