North Stawell Minerals (ASX:NSM) has begun drilling at the Caledonia and Darlington prospects within the company’s namesake project in Victoria, testing for further shallow mineralisation.
The company is conducting between 2,000m to 2,500m of aircore drilling at the North Stawell Project, following up a ‘high-grade’ gold zone identified at Darlington in February and November 2025 diamond drilling campaigns.
The gold zone runs parallel to the historical mine trend and remains open in all directions, returning intercepts including 2.3m @ 29.3 grams per tonne gold from 108.2m, including 0.8m @ 82g/t gold from 108.2m, 0.5m @ 6.1g.t gold from 283.35m, and 0.3m @ 5.18g/t gold from 231m.
Drilling at Caledonia will follow up on a surface geochemical survey completed last month. The survey outlined anomalous gold which is consistent with the Darlington-Caledonia mineralised trend.
Victoria-based drilling company Australian Mineral & Waterwell Drilling (AMWD) is conducting the drilling campaign on behalf of North Stawell.
Executive Director Bill Reid says drilling results are expected to be returned in April 2026.
“The Darlington mineralisation includes multiple occurrences of visible gold in a geological and structural position that appears very similar to the historic mines at Mariners above the Stawell Mine, 6km to the south,” Reid says.
“The Mariners Mines targeted high-grade splays above the deeper basalt-related mineralisation – and produced almost 1 million ounces gold @ 28-30g/t historically.
“Caledonia, 2km north of Darlington, has multiple shallow gold intercepts, and is masked by a thin layer of unmineralised sediments. Caledonia is interpreted as another Mariners-type target controlled by the same structure as Darlington.”
North Stawell Minerals is a gold explorer focused on discovering large-scale deposits in the Stawell Mineralised Corridor in Victoria.
