North Stawell Minerals identifies ‘high-grade’ plunging shoot at Darlington Mine in Victoria

North Stawell Minerals (ASX:NSM) reports that its aircore (AC) drilling program identified a ‘high-grade’, south-east plunging shoot at the historic Darlington Mine, located 10km north of Stawell in Victoria.

The program comprised 7 priority holes for a total of 575m. North Stawell reports that 3 holes returned ‘significant’ mineralisation. These results include drillhole NSAC0527 with 3m @ 11g/t Au from 60m, including 1m @ 17.7g/t Au from 62m; NSAC0532 with 6m @ 3.45g/t Au from 42m; and NSAC0530 with 3m @ 2.20g/t Au from 45m.

Additionally, North Stawell reports that all drillholes returned ‘significant’ grades, with 5 of the holds ending in anomalous mineralisation of more than 1g/t.

Commenting on the drill results, North Stawell Minerals Chief Executive Russell Krause says: “The drilling program has effectively determined the shoot geometry, significantly consolidating understanding of the mineralisation.

Five of the 7 holes have ended in broad intercepts of anomalous gold, an encouraging indication of more widespread mineralisation. Deeper intercepts outside the identified high-grade shoot are interpreted as possible parallel structures, and their gold potential will be part of further drill planning.”

The Darlington mine is the southernmost target on the 10km long Germania-Darlington gold trend. Historic mining at Darlington records 2,347 ounces @ 18.2g/t Au. In addition, the Darlington mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth. The company states new results are open down-plunge beneath historic drilling.

North Stawell Minerals is an Australian-based gold exploration company, focused on discovering ‘large-scale’ gold deposits in the highly prospective Stawell Mineralised Corridor in Victoria.
