North Stawell Minerals (ASX:NSM) has started a diamond drilling campaign at the Darlington Project in western Victoria, following up on drilling programs held between January 2025 and May 2026.
The company will drill between 600m and 800m, after recent diamond and aircore drilling identified a ‘shallow’ mineralised gold zone parallel to the historical Darlington Mine trend, which remains open in all directions.
Previous intercepts include 2.3m @ 29.3 grams per tonne gold from 108.2m, including 0.8m @ 82g/t gold from 108.2m; 0.3m @ 5.18g/t gold from 231m; 4m @ 10.77g/t gold from 60m; and 6m @ 3.45g/t gold from 42m.
Executive Director Bill Reid says the company is excited to return to Darlington, with plans to test the “interpreted orientation of a possible high-grade gold shoot within a larger plane of lower-grade gold mineralisation”.
“All the important geological and structural elements for a repeat of our two recognised target-type mineralisations occur at Darlington, multiplied by the fact that the controlling basalt is the northern continuation of the same geology that hosts the Stawell Mine,” Reid says.
He adds that ‘high-grade’ gold mineralisation in Victoria has generated “significant investor interest at other Victorian projects” over the last few years.
“North Stawell Minerals sees operation and investor upside in demonstrating that Darlington has similar, poorly tested, high-grade gold potential.”
