North Stawell digs into Darlington again

North Stawell Minerals (ASX:NSM) is following up a previously identified ‘high-grade’ gold intercept with further drilling at the Darlington prospect within the Stawell Corridor in Western Victoria.

A diamond rig, operated by a Victorian drilling company, is expected to be operational in the second half of September.

The program will comprise between 600m and 900m of diamond drilling at NSD057, after the drillhole intersected a 2.8m zone of visible gold and quartz-breccia vein between 108.2m and 110.5m downhole.

The drillhole previously returned 2.3m @ 29.2 grams per tonne gold from 108.2m, while the greater mine 200m north of the target has historical records of producing 2,347 ounces gold @ 18.2g/t gold.

North Stawell says this supports the interpretation of a possible high-grade gold system.

Other intercepts from the most recent drilling campaign include 4m @ 10.77g/t gold from 60m, 6m @ 3.04g/t gold from 45m, and 1.5m @ 4.24g/t gold from 140.5m.

Darlington is expected to host mineralisation similar to the Mariners-style gold, found within the Stawell Corridor for its splays of mineralisation occurring above a deeper basalt.

North of the prospect by 2km, Caledonia shows similarities to Darlington’s structure, geology, and mineralisation.

The company’s tenements host a basalt strike of 5.5km.

North Stawell Minerals is an Australian gold explorer focused on uncovering ‘large scale’ deposits across the Stawell Mineralised Corridor in Victoria.
