Nexus winds up Payns’ drilling campaign

Nexus Minerals (ASX:NXM) has completed a reverse circulation drilling program at the Payns prospect, within the Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia.

An additional 14 holes for 1,140m of drilling was completed, due to encouraging geology obtained from the program, as previously reported by Mining.com.au

The final program, which followed up on a mineralised gold footprint identified in prior aircore drilling, comprised 46 holes for 5,172m of drilling.

Nexus, which has a market capitalisation of $44.67 million, says the results will support refinement of the geological model at Payns and contribute to improved delineation of the emerging mineralised zones.

This is consistent with the company’s exploration strategy to efficiently build the project’s near-surface ounce portfolio.

Assays are expected towards the end of July 2025.

Managing Director Andy Tudor says this program has been managed by the exploration team, building information around geology and mineralisation at Payns.

“Initial observations were sufficiently encouraging to justify a 25% expansion of the program to target prospective geology,” Tudor says.

“This reverse circulation program continues our systematic exploration approach focused on efficient discovery of near-surface gold mineralisation.”

The Wallbrook Gold Project, covering 192km2, occurs within the Norseman – Wiluna Archean Greenstone Belt in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

Nexus Minerals is a mineral explorer focused on its portfolio of projects across Australia. The company has gold projects in Western Australia, gold-copper and critical minerals projects in New South Wales, and porphyry copper-gold projects in Victoria.
