Nexus Minerals (ASX:NXM) has returned up to 30.05 grams per tonne of gold during a reverse circulation drilling program at the Payns prospect within the greater Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia.
The company conducted 5,172m of drilling at the prospect for 46 holes, with 1m results providing a “global gold grade uplift” in comparison to previous 4m results.
Assays include 5m @ 8.1g/t gold including 1m @ 30.05g/t gold within 15m @ 2.94g/t gold from 39m, 8m @ 4.19g/t gold within 15m @ 2.37g/t gold from 37m, and 7m @ 2.92g/t gold including 1m @ 10.55g/t gold within 16m @ 1.49g/t gold from 72.
The footprint spans a 900m by 750m area, which remains open for lateral extensions and down plunge of mineralised zones.
Managing Director Andy Tudor says the prospect has continued to showcase its growing potential for the Nexus, holding a “compelling” grade profile.
“These exceptional one metre results highlight broad continuity of mineralisation across the prospect with high-grade gold zones within,” Tudor says.
“The prospect is well positioned for more comprehensive infill drilling, which will also allow for efficient extensional drilling both laterally and down dip of the emerging mineralised zones.”
The company is now progressing a reverse circulation drilling program at the Clement, Godfrey, and Target 4.1 prospects, spanning 6,000m of drilling across the Wallbrook Project.
“All of these targets represent compelling opportunities to discover material gold mineralisation,” Tudor adds.
Nexus intends to assess the continuity, geometry, and tenor of gold mineralisation previously uncovered in drilling campaigns to support the refinement of geological models and contribute to improved delineation of mineralised areas.
Nexus Minerals is a gold explorer focused on developing its tenement package in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
