Australian based company New Age Exploration (ASX:NAE) reports it has identified ‘extensive’ and ‘strong’ lithium (Li2O) geochemical anomalies following phase one Ultrafine geochemical soil surveys at its Central Pilbara Gold-Lithium Project in Western Australia (WA).
The results, generated by a total of 5,300 samples, have uncovered about 5 Li2O anomalies up to 8km long and 3km wide that boast coincident elevated pathfinder elements that are reported to remain open in all directions as well as Li2O values up to 843ppm Li2O.
It is reported that 2 of the robust Li2O anomalies have been identified in proximity to the southeastern margin of a targeted granite pluton of the Sisters Supersuite, a confirmed source of spodumene bearing pegmatites within the Pilbara.
The ultrafine soil sampling survey was conducted across the company’s Quartz Hill Gold Project and Bullock West Gold Project located in WA’s Central Pilbara region, with final results expected in Q1 of next year.
Speaking on the results, New Age Exploration Executive Director Joshua Wellisch says: “The very strong results at both Bullock Well and Quartz Hill clearly demonstrate the exceptional potential our project area has to host significant high-grade, hard rock lithium mineralisation.
Each of the areas are defined by lithium values in excess of 150ppm and all are supported by all of the key multi-elements, including caesium; tantalum; tin and rubidium which are well documented associations of lithium bearing “rare metal” LCT pegmatite mineral systems.

The company also notes that the remaining 3 anomalies are situated within the western extension of the Wodgina Greenstone Belt, which is host to ASX-listed pure-play Li2O company Pilbara Minerals’ (ASX:PLS) Mt Francisco Lithium Deposit.
In addition, it is reported that these areas that host these anomalies have not been previously explored.

New Age exploration announces that an immediate follow up helicopter reconnaissance program has also been commenced to assess these priority areas in more detail prior to closure of the 2022 field season.
