Locksley Resources (ASX:LKY) is mobilising a Titan HD track-mounted diamond drill rig at the El Campo prospect of the Mojave Rare Earth Element (REE) Project in San Bernardino County, California.
Testing up to 12.1% total rare earth oxide including 3.19% neodymium-praseodymium, a contractor will begin drilling in December 2025 for an initial five hole program for up to 750, approved by the US Bureau of Land Management.
Drilling down dip to uncover the continuity of mineralisation, the campaign intends to compare the geological interpretations of stratabound mineralisation to structural shear hosted mineralisation
CEO Kerrie Matthews says executing the drilling services contract to secure a Titan HD drill rig aligns with the company’s US-focused rare earths strategy and the greater US mine-to-market plan.
“With BLM approvals in place and the drilling contractor engaged, the company is now fully prepared to commence diamond drilling at El Campo and to evaluate the depth and continuity of REE mineralisation identified at surface and proximal to Mountain Pass,” Matthews says.
“Utilising diamond drilling ensures we will obtain high quality samples for future metallurgical testwork as well as geological, geotechnical and structural data to assist with the rapid interpretation and advancement of the project.”
The program is expected to be completed in around three weeks following mobilisation of the rig in December, which will be followed by core logging, structural interpretation, sampling, assaying, and site reclamation activities as listed in the BLM’s conditions.
Locksley, which has a market capitalisation of $143.78 million, will conduct earthworks next month in preparation for drilling.
As reported by Mining.com.au earlier this week, the company produced a 100% American made antimony ingot to buy into the US demand for a local supply chain.
This places the company as the first marketable American domestic antimony metal producer in decades, sourced from the Mojave Desert Antimony Mine in California.
Locksley Resources is a critical minerals explorer focused on establishing a stable supply chain of antimony for the US market.
