Leviathan Metals (TSX-V:LVX) is advancing discussions with potential partners for a staged disposal of its Australian assets in the near- to mid-term, while the company focuses on its Central Project in Botswana.
In October 2025, Leviathan Metals secured approval from shareholders to acquire Cura Exploration – positioning the company in the Kalahari Copper Belt (KCB) of Botswana. Cura Exploration also brings a prospective uranium portfolio immediately adjacent to Lotus Resources’ (ASX:LOT) Letlhakane Uranium Project.
The Central Project hosts a dome south of Khoemacau, a feature that has never been drill tested on the property. Leviathan says Central provides the company with an “unparalleled opportunity to make a tier one copper discovery”.
An airborne survey is planned, which the company’s geoscientific team anticipates will result in receiving additional high-quality, high-resolution data. Upon receipt, Leviathan will plan a maiden drilling program.
Leviathan adds that in 2025, the company closed an acquisition of Foča Metals Corp, resulting in obtaining the Foča Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Initial programs at Foča will focus on exposing near-surface targets along key fault structures, with induced polarisation geophysics planned to vector towards drillable targets.
CEO Luke Norman previously told Mining.com.au that the company is going in with some high-resolution geophysics at its Botswana and Bosnia projects.
“We’re now just putting in the last work on honing in on our primary target,” Norman said.
The program will aim to prove Leviathan’s concept of the belief Central has an identical geology backdrop setting to the entire Khoemacau Mine.
In November 2025, the company also changed its name from Leviathan Gold to Leviathan Metals to better reflect its strategic focus in exploration activities.
Leviathan Metals is a Canada-based mineral explorer focused on discoveries in Botswana and Bosnia.
