Lefroy gets Lucky with mining progress

Lefroy Exploration (ASX:LEX) has released mining progress updates from the Lucky Strike Gold Deposit near Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

The Lucky Strike Gold Deposit has a mineral reserve estimate of 1.27 million tonnes @ 1.95 grams per tonne gold for 79,600 ounces (indicated and inferred).

Mining at the first ore panels is underway, with partners BML Ventures building the run of mine (ROM) ore stockpiles ahead of the ore haulage and toll treatment.

First ore has been intersected 17m below surface and ore stockpiles are expected to continue to build throughout January as work continues.

CEO Graeme Gribbin says that the mining progress “truly does represent a pivotal moment for the company, as we prepare for ore haulage, with first gold production scheduled shortly thereafter in February”.

“With gold recently touching $7,000 (AUD), Lefroy’s approaching status as first-time gold producer could not be better timed.”

The toll milling agreement covers an initial 80,000 – 90,000 ore tonnes and is already in place with FMR Investment’s Greenfields Mill in Coolgardie. First ore is scheduled for processing in February 2026.

Lefroy is advancing a portfolio of gold, copper, and nickel projects in Western Australia.
