Larvotto Hillgrove Underground Development

Larvotto’s development work on time for Hillgrove production

Larvotto Resources’ (ASX:LRV) Managing Director Ron Heeks says development activities at the Hillgrove Gold Project in New South Wales are continuing to progress on budget and time ahead of production in mid-2026.

“Larvotto will be the next major Western producer of antimony, a critical mineral of increasing strategic importance given tightening global supply dynamics,” Heeks says.

“In addition to antimony, we will be producing gold and tungsten, both at near-record prices.”

The company says Modification (Mod) 5 is progressing on track at the Hillgrove Project, with strong engagement across all parties allowing the project to process 525,000 tonnes per year.

To date, the mine is permitted to operate 250,000 tonnes each year and is in line with environmental and operational permits.

Larvotto will be required to conduct additional permitting of Mod 5 at the end of 2026, however, it is not required for the company to restart mining and processing operations until that date.

“Hillgrove benefits from established infrastructure, including direct grid power, providing a meaningful operational advantage that differentiates the project from comparable developments,” Heeks adds.

“Our management team is focused on disciplined project delivery, ensuring we transition towards production in a stable financial position.

“With ongoing exploration success continually demonstrated by the excellent results reported over the last 12 months, we remain focused on delivering a reliable, long-life operation to ensure Hillgrove remains a key contributor to both gold and critical minerals markets.”

On the sidelines of the Gold Coast Gold Conference last month, Larvotto COO Sonja Neame described production to be a key focus for the company, before reaching steady state at Hillgrove, as reported by Mining.com.au.

Located near Armidale in New South Wales, the Hillgrove Project is adjacent to the township, benefiting from direct connection to the main power grid.

The mine site does not rely on diesel-power generation for fuel, limiting exposure to supply constraints and ensuring a streamlined production timeline.

Larvotto Resources is an Australian explorer focused on developing its Hillgrove Project in New South Wales into production.
