With the RIU Sydney Resources Round-Up coming up soon, Kalamazoo Resources (ASX:KZR) is targeting investors by illustrating the underlying value of its project portfolio.
With the Ashburton Gold Project leading the Kalamazoo portfolio in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, the conference provides a platform for the company to engage directly with investors and position itself as a gold developer and growth story.
“Our objective is to make sure the market fully understands the strength of the Ashburton story — not just where it is today, but where it’s heading,” Executive Director Ben Ackerman tells this news service.
“We’re advancing a project with robust economics even at a $4,500 gold price, and at the same time we’re continuing to build a much larger production and resource base.”
The RIU Sydney Resources Round-Up will be held at the Hyatt Regency Sydney during 5–7 May 2026, acting as a forum for corporate mining investors.
Kalamazoo will attend this year’s event, with Executive Chairman Luke Reinehr joining on Wednesday 6 May at 9:15am.
“We think the key message for investors is that Ashburton already stands up on very conservative assumptions,” Ackerman adds.
“At $4,500 gold, the project demonstrates robust fundamentals, and as we continue to grow the resource base, we see a clear pathway toward building a long-life, scalable production profile beyond 1 million ounces.”
The company is wholly focused on transitioning from explorer to developer in the near future, with Ashburton hosting 1.44 million ounces in resource and more than 500,000 ounces in its gold production profile outlined over a 73-month life-of-mine period, which was outlined in the November 2025 Scoping Study, as reported by Mining.com.au.
RIU calls on market engagement
The RIU Sydney Resources Round-Up brings together a mix of institutional investors, brokers, corporate participants, and sophisticated retail investors. Kalamazoo describes the event as “one of the most effective mining investment forums”.
“What sets RIU apart is the ability to have meaningful, high-quality conversations with investors who are actively looking for opportunities,” Ackerman explains to Mining.com.au.
“It’s not just about presenting — it’s about engaging with the market in a very direct and efficient way.”
Ackerman describes that the key benefits for first-time attendees is the event’s ability to provide a “clear view of quality in the sector”, including project economics, growth potential, or management capabilities.
“You can very quickly see which companies have a genuine pathway to development and value creation,” the Executive Director says.
Throughout the remainder of 2026, Kalamazoo is focused on advancing the Ashburton Project and building scale.
Milestones the company is targeting includes a Prefeasibility Study for the Mt Olympus prospect, due in early 2027, as well as ongoing drilling and resource growth, continued technical and metallurgical refinement, and the advancement of Ashburton’s production strategy.
“The focus for 2026 is very much on execution,” Ackerman adds.
“We’re aiming to de-risk the project, grow the resource, and demonstrate that this is not just a single deposit story — it’s a broader gold system with the scale to support a meaningful production profile.”
Kalamazoo Resources is an Australian explorer focused on advancing its portfolio of gold and base metals projects.
