Iceni Gold Limited (ASX: ICL) has intersected a third interval of strong alteration at the TOTK target within its 14 Mile Well Gold Project, 100m along trend from previous similar intersections of strongly altered and sulphide bearing granite and porphyries.
The company views the result as ‘highly encouraging’, as it verifies the interpreted orientation of the alteration zone and confirms its path can be predicted and tested with further diamond drill holes.
Executive Chairman Brian Rodan said: “To have intersected strongly altered and sulphide bearing granite and porphyries in a third intersection with strong alteration and similar down hole widths of + 90m thick, so early in the drilling programme at TOTK is very exciting.”
Iceni has been undertaking diamond drilling on the TOTK target area following up on visible high-grade gold identified in an outcrop. Rock chip geochemical sampling had earlier returned results including:
- 135 g/t Au, 1,220 g/t Ag and 0.66 g/t Te
- 101 g/t Au, 548 g/t Ag and 1.26 g/t Te
- 8 g/t Au, 507 g/t Ag and 2.06 g/t Te
- 5 g/t Au, 57.8 g/t Ag and 0.34 g/t Te
The project is located on the western side of Lake Carey in Western Australia, approximately 50km from Laverton, and the combined tenements all span across ~600km2 – with 6 key high priority target areas identified.
The company reports that the diamond drill core from FMDD0016 will be transported to Kalgoorlie for processing and sampling. Meanwhile, the samples from DD hole FMDD0012 are currently at the laboratory in Perth ready for assaying.
The company plans to continue the diamond drilling campaign, with the drilling at TOTK continuing to test along strike and down dip.
