Iceni flags ‘major’ fault corridor at Goose Well

Iceni Gold (ASX:ICL) has completed a diamond drilling hole at its flagship 14 Mile Well Gold Project between Leonora and Laverton in Western Australia.

The 362m deep hole at the Goose Well target intersected a 25m wide interval of broken and brecciated ground, confirming the presence of the Gander Fault.

Core logging identified a multi-phase intrusive complex featuring strong silica-carbonate alteration and abundant sulphides, supporting a significant hydrothermal system.

Managing Director Wade Johnson says the diamond core provided critical structural insights.

“The diamond core has provided information that could not have been obtained through [reverse circulation] drilling alone, with early observations confirming the presence of a major fault corridor, named the ‘Gander Fault’, comprising an [estimated] 25m-wide zone of fault gouge and brecciated quartz syenite intrusion with intensely sheared lamprophyre,” Johnson says.

“This drillhole represents a strategic investment in understanding the system, reducing exploration risk and positioning Iceni to effectively target new discoveries within the Goose Well Intrusive Complex.”

Iceni says core processing and sampling are underway, with assay results expected in August.

The 14 Mile Well Gold Project covers approximately 645km2 in the Laverton Greenstone Belt, located within 75km of multiple operating gold mills.

Iceni Gold is a gold explorer focused on key projects in WA.
