Iceni Gold (ASX:ICL) reports it has discovered a ‘significant’ 2.5km x 1km gold and multi-element ultrafine (UFF+) soil anomaly, following a project wide UFF+ campaign at its 14 Mile Well project area in Western Australia.
The newly identified soil anomaly, named Everleigh – 14UF008, is correlated with a geophysical magnetic high and supports the prospectivity of the Everleigh Well target area, which represents one of seven key priority target areas that are being explored by Iceni.
Iceni’s current exploration includes geophysics, UFF+ soil sampling, as well as aircore (AC) and diamond drilling (DD) campaigns across the 800km-square tenement package.
The company also notes that the presence of the new gold soil anomaly creates new drilling opportunities in a new prospect area that remains ‘significantly’ under-explored, and is considered to be a positive indicator for potential intrusion related gold or orogenic gold mineralisation.
Moreover, the shape of the anomaly is reported to be tight and coherent, which suggests that the source may be close to surface.
In addition, UFF+ soil samples taken from the project area have returned a number of anomalous areas that boast gold values associated with favourable alteration mineral distributions, pathfinder elements or geophysical features.

The 14 Mile Well project is located about 50km from the township of Laverton along the western shores of Lake Carey in WA’s Eastern Goldfields region and comprises a total land holding of 800km-square.
The project has access via main roads and is in close proximity to the Goldfields Gas Pipeline, situated between the historic mining centres of Leonora and Laverton and comprises five granted exploration licences and 143 granted prospecting licences, including seven prospecting licences and two mining leases which are under application.
With results from the recent UFF+ sampling program now returned, Iceni Gold announces that it has moved forward with follow-up on-ground exploration work at the new prospect.
