Global Lithium reports highest grades to date at Marble Bar

Global Lithium (ASX: GL1) has reported its highest lithium grades to date at its Marble Bar Lithium Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, including 3m @ 2.5% LI₂O.

The results, which were generated from a Q4 2021 / Q1 2022 exploration program, are described by the company as highlighting the effectiveness of planning and targeting carried out at the project in conjunction with consultants CSA Global.

    Key assay grades include:

    • Hole MBRC0244: 3m @ 2.5% Li₂O and 32ppm Ta₂O₅ from 67m; including
      • 1m @ 4.1% Li₂O
    • Hole MBRC0174: 4m @ 1.55% Li₂O and 69ppm Ta₂O₅ from 37m
    • Hole MBRC0229: 4m @ 2.18% Li₂O and 33ppm Ta₂O₅ from 13m
    • Hole MBRC0233: 3m @ 1.77% Li₂O and 29ppm Ta₂O₅ from surface
    • Hole MBRC0236: 12m @ 0.53% Li₂O and 25ppm Ta₂O₅ from 44m in
    • Hole MBRC0242: 6m @ 1.28% Li₂O and 63ppm Ta₂O₅ from 58m; including
      • 1m @ 3.5% Li₂O from 58m
    • Hole MBRC0242: 5m @ 1.36% Li₂O and 43ppm Ta₂O₅ from 102m
    • Hole MBRC0253: 10m @ 0.64% and 49ppm Ta₂O₅ from 11m

Speaking on the results, Global Lithium Head of Geology Stuart Peterson said: “Our Q4 2021 / Q1 2022 exploration drilling program continues to build momentum at the MBLP, with lithium intercepts continuing along the >6km strike of the mineralisation already identified within the project area. These results continue to highlight the prospectivity of the area, particularly towards the southern and eastern areas of GL1’s tenement package.

The successful program vindicates the targeting effort by the Global Lithium and CSA Global teams and provides a strong platform for future growth from the ongoing exploration.

The lithium market remains very strong and we expect this momentum to continue throughout 2022 and beyond. Our immediate focus will be the ongoing CY2022 program at MBLP, including the highly prospective targets that remain untested, as well as our exploration campaign due to commence at the Manna Lithium Project in the Goldfields region in CY2022Q2.”

Global Lithium notes that the results reinforce potential for lithium mineralisation in the east of the project towards the Brockman Zone, where multiple holes intercepted ‘wide zones’ of lithium mineralisation including 12m @ 0.53% Li₂O and 20m @ 0.47% Li₂O in a previously unexplored area.

A series of other existing and newly-identified targets remain untested, and will form the basis of the current drilling program which commenced in February.

The Marble Bar Lithium Project is situated approximately 150km south-east of Port Hedland within one of the world’s premiere hard-rock lithium provinces. It hosts an existing Inferred Mineral Resource of 10.5 million tonnes @ 1.0% Li₂O.
