Global Lithium records ‘highest grade’ intercept to date at Manna Project, WA

Global Lithium Resources (ASX:GL1) has intercepted its ‘highest ever’ grade of a lithium bearing pegmatite to date following diamond drilling (DD) at its Manna Lithium Project in Western Australia.

Global Lithium reports diamond assay results confirm the extension of the resource down dip with results of up to 3.65% Li20.

The results, generated by the first drillhole of the ongoing DD operation, also confirms the extension of the resource down dip and delivers further ‘significant’ lithium assays, with key intercepts including: 5.7m @ 1.82% Li20 from 136.7m, including 4.3m @ 2.08% Li20 from 136.7m, and 0.4m @ 3.65% Li20 from 136.7m.

Addressing the results, Global Lithium General Manager of Exploration Stuart Peterson said: “It is very encouraging to see such high grade spodumene zones within the pegmatites at the Manna Lithium Project.

This result shows that the spodumene crystal growth was complete during the pegmatites formation and having these clean, high grade spodumene intervals within the pegmatites should provide a clear metallurgical upgrade pathway to produce a saleable lithium concentrate.

“It is very encouraging to see such high grade spodumene zones within the pegmatites at the manna lithium project”

The Diamond drilling program is a crucial part of this resource drill out program. Not only does it provide valuable mineralogy and understanding about the lithium bearing pegmatites, it also allows the company to potentially add significant tonnes to the existing resource.”

The company also notes that a second RC drill rig has arrived at the project and has commenced drilling, with both drill rigs working to define the true expanse of this developing lithium resource.

In addition, ongoing exploration mapping activities have identified a new southwestern pegmatite target area hosted within the project area which totals a size of 1.2km directly along strike, with RC drilling currently working to identify if this new area connects to the main resource.

The Manna Lithium Project is located about 100km east of the township of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. It has an influence of 750m x 130m in the main outcrop, with individual pegmatite dykes up to 18m wide.

Global Lithium has recently completed an acquisition for 80% interest in the project from Breaker Resources (ASX:BRB) for up to $33 million and represents the company’s second lithium asset, which also boasts a maiden inferred JORC Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 9.9Mt @ 1.14% Li2O and 49 Ta205 ppm.

With drilling still ongoing, Global Lithium announces that is on track to deliver an updated MRE for Q4 2022.
