Generation Uranium (TSX-V:GEN) has begun its inaugural field program at the Yath Project in the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut, Canada.
The company has assembled a team focused on geophysics, structural geology, and prospecting to define drill targets at historical showings and ground-truth new anomalies identified during the 2024 Expert Geophysics Mobile Magnetotelluric (MMT) survey.
The program aims to prioritise drill targets ahead of drilling once the company receives its drill permit. Generation will integrate MMT conductors into 17 existing targets, ground-check new MMT anomalies, and review conductors along trend from Atha Energy’s (TSX-V:SASK) Lac 50 historical deposit.
“I joined Generation eight months ago in November 2025 because I believe Yath has exceptional discovery potential. The year 2026 is where it is all starting to come together with the final MMT survey being complete, and target selection in anticipation of drilling,” CEO Michael Collins says.
“I envy our geology team’s opportunity to be part of this project at such a pivotal moment but I also think they have a tough job sifting through so many great targets.”
The Yath Project covers over 17km² in the Angikuni Basin, surrounded north and south by Atha Energy’s Angilak Project, where three drills are currently operating following five new discoveries in 2025.
Key targets include the VGR trend, which extends approximately 5km along a major fault structure characterised by elevated radioactivity and extensive clay-silica alteration. Grab samples have returned up to 3.75% uranium oxide (U₃O₈), with one reverse circulation drill hole recording strongly elevated downhole radioactivity ranging from 5,000–15,000 counts per second over the upper 65m.
The BOG-Embryo Creek trend hosts a 3km radioactive corridor largely concealed by overburden. Prospecting in 1981 discovered several ‘high-grade’ showings within granitic gneiss, with showing MM81-276 returning 9.81% U₃O₈, 0.73% copper (Cu), 0.79% molybdenum (Mo), and 3.7 ounces per tonne silver (Ag).
Historical exploration at the project returned surface samples up to 9.8% U₃O₈, while drilling intersected 1m @ 0.224% U₃O₈ from 25.5m.
