Galileo Mining (ASX: GAL) has reported further palladium and platinum assay results from AC drilling at the northern end of the Mission Sill prospect within its Norseman Project in Western Australia.
The results, which delivered highest AC grades to date, include:
- Hole NAC151: 8m @ 1.44 g/t 2E (palladium + platinum), 0.11% Ni, 0.01% Cu from 8m in including
- 4m @ 1.70 g/t 2E, 0.11% Ni, 0.01% Cu from 12m
- Hole NAC149: 20m @ 0.32 g/t 2E, 0.18% Ni, 0.03% Cu from surface
- Hole NAC143: 20m @ 0.29 g/t 2E, 0.27% Ni, 0.03% Cu from 24m
The company notes that palladium and platinum results extend over 9km of strike along a well-defined geological trend, with 4km of this target strike length not yet subject to first pass AC drilling.
Speaking on the results, Galileo Mining Managing Director Brad Underwood said: “We have intercepted anomalous palladium results every time we have drilled the prospective geological zone at the Mission Sill prospect. This time we have received the highest aircore grades to date with greater than one gram palladium assays over eight metres down hole. In addition, we have multiple drill holes with good indications of palladium which will assist in pinpointing the best targets for follow up RC drill testing.

With nine kilometres of prospective strike length, we are exploring an extensively mineralised geological zone with excellent potential for the development of an economic mineral deposit.”
Galileo had commenced a ~10,000m AC drilling program at Norseman in November, with an initial focus on five priority palladium-nickel targets.
Hole NAC151, which delivered the best results from the current round of reporting, was positioned at the interpreted contact between ultramafic and mafic rock.
Galileo’s 306km² Norseman Project comprises a series of exploration and prospecting licenses about two hours north of the deep water Port of Esperance.
The project is well-served by infrastructure from its nearby namesake town, including gas, water, and electricity facilities, as well as access to road and rail.

Moving forward, Galileo states that it is planning to undertake followup RC drilling to determine whether mineralisation continues at depth beneath AC intercepts, which are limited to near-surface environment.
Future work is also set to include petrography of selected samples, AC drilling at untested palladium prospective zones, and magnetic interpretation of ultramafic/mafic contact position.
Additional assay results expected over the coming weeks.
