Galileo Mining continues to chart way through Callisto discovery, WA

Galileo Mining (ASX:GAL) reports the presence of massive sulphide mineralisation following diamond drilling (DD) activities at the Callisto palladium-platinum-gold-rhodium-copper-nickel discovery.

The results, generated by 5 diamond drillholes for 582m and 6 reverse circulation (RC) drillholes for 1,349m, have defined 1.25m of massive sulphides within a larger 29.1m zone of disseminated and stringer sulphides.

The Callisto palladium-platinum-gold-rhodium-copper-nickel discovery is part of its 100% owned Norseman Project in Western Australia.

Commenting on the results, Galileo’s Managing Director Brad Underwood stated: “Intersecting massive sulphides at the shallow depth of 190 metres downhole is an exceptional result from our first program of diamond drilling at Callisto.

It demonstrates how much there is to learn about the larger mineralised system and the up-side opportunities that may present themselves as we continue with our extensive drill campaigns.

As there is no known mineralised outcrop, and over 5km of prospective strike, we consider that significant potential exists for additional discoveries at shallow depths. With an ongoing RC drill campaign of 10,000m, and an ongoing 2,000m of diamond core drilling, we are very excited to be rapidly progressing this new West Australian mineral discovery.”

The company also notes that every completed drillhole within the ongoing DD and reverse circulation (RC) programs have successfully intersected sulphide mineralisation, with portable XRF analyses confirming the presence of nickel and copper sulphides.

In addition, these latest results deliver the potential for additional ‘high-grade zones to exist within the mineralised system.

The Norseman Project is located about 10km from the township of Norseman in Western Australia and comprises exploration and prospecting licences that cover a total land area of 306km-square, with Galileo owning 100% of all associated tenements. The project site is easily accessed by road and rail and has access to excellent infrastructure, including gas, water and electricity facilities. The project also currently boasts a cobalt-nickel JORC Mineral Resource.

Galileo announces that it remains focused with the ongoing 10,000m RC and 2,000m DD programs, with assays from both campaigns expected to be returned in mid-late September.
