Duketon Mining secures Barlee South tenement

Duketon Mining (ASX:DKM) has been granted a new tenement adjoining the Barlee Project in Western Australia.

The tenement, prospective for gold, base metals, and lithium, increases the Barlee Project’s area to 253km2

Previous exploration completed on the tenement includes regional auger soil sampling. A total of 306 samples were collected and analysed within the area, returning a maximum grade of 92.7 parts per billion gold and highlighted several more than 30ppb gold anomalies.

The company says the anomalies identified in previous exploration have not been drill tested. The northern anomaly is 3,800m by 1,800m, while the southern anomaly is 3,200m by 2,200m.

Duketon intends to infill soil samples if necessary, as well as follow-up gold anomalies with aircore drilling in preparation for target testing.

The company has collected six rock chip samples as part of a regional reconnaissance program focused on lithium, which returned no significant assays.

The Barlee Project is located in the northern portion of the Archaean Southern Cross Province, 200km north of Southern Cross in Western Australia. The belt contains numerous small gold deposits including the Mt Dimer and Marda Gold projects.

Duketon Mining is a Western Australian mineral explorer focused on discovering and developing projects considered prospective for primarily gold.
