Duketon Mining assay results for Rosie nickel deposit show ‘significant’ full PGE suite

Australian mineral and exploration company Duketon Mining (ASX:DKM) has released its final assay results for the full suite of platinum group elements (PGEs) for previously drilled holes at the Rosie nickel deposit.

The assay results for the 3 diamond holes drilled late last year include DKD0031 with 4.5m @ 1.91% nickel (Ni), 0.67% copper (Cu), and 6.58g/t PGEs; DKDD0032 with 3.31m @ 1.57% Ni, 0.27% Cu, and 2.64g/t PGEs; and DKDD0033 with 2.95m @ 3.13% Ni, 0.4% Cu, and 3.74g/t PGEs.

Duketon Mining Managing Director Stuart Fogarty says: “These PGE assays show the significant value that the full suite of PGEs add to the Rosie deposit. Not all of these PGEs are considered in the mineral resource nickel equivalent calculation leaving some inherent upside to the resource which currently has more than 250,000oz of contained PGEs.

The Rosie mineral resource continues to grow as more drilling is directed towards it and we expect this trend to continue. A number of holes in this current program are focused on down plunge positions of Rosie and we expect these to deliver intersections that should provide a further expansion of resource.”

Duketon states that the additional PGEs (iridium, osmium, rhodium, and ruthenium) contribute up to 1.0g/t to the total PGEs for each hole. Diamond drilling will continue at the Bulge area including drilling down the plunge of DKDD0033.

The company focuses on uncovering nickel deposits within the Duketon greenstone belt north of Laverton, Western Australia. The company continues to invest in its asset base of multiple exploration projects through objective decision making, good exploration process, considered use of new technologies, and ‘significant’ volumes of drilling.
