Diablo set for maiden drilling at North Star

Diablo Resources (ASX:DBO) has received final drill permit documentation to start its maiden diamond drilling program at the North Star prospect within the Star Range Project in Utah.

The initial program comprises approximately 1,000m across five diamond holes , with approvals in place for up to 27 holes from 12 pads.

Ground works are underway, with mobilisation and drilling scheduled to begin in the coming weeks.

Diablo intends to test multiple silver-antimony-copper targets beneath ‘high-grade’ surface results and coincident induced polarisation geophysical anomalies that have never been drill-tested.

CEO Lyle Thorne says the final drill approval marks a major milestone for Diablo.

“This program will provide the first opportunity to test the geological model we have built through the integration of high-grade surface geochemistry, geological mapping and geophysical datasets,” Thorne says.

The company notes ground works are underway, with mobilisation and drilling to commence in the coming weeks.

At North Star, surface rock chip samples have previously graded up to 3,043 grams per tonne silver (Ag) and antimony to 0.70%.

The program will evaluate the scale, continuity, and geometry of this mineralised breccia-vein system at depth.

Earlier this year, first-pass soil sampling at the nearby South Star prospect also identified a silver-antimony anomaly extending 1,000m in length, which remains open toward the northeast.

Old workings in this area contain silver up to 231g/t and 0.10% antimony.

The Star Range Project is located approximately 6km west of Milford in Beaver County, Utah, and consists of 238 lode claims and one Utah lease.

Following the initial campaign, the company expects to receive and interpret assay results from regional surface geochemical programs at the South Star and East Star prospects to guide follow-up drilling.

Diablo Resources is a mineral explorer focused on discovering and developing precious metals and critical minerals in North America.
