Dart Mining intersects visible copper and molybdenum from deep diamond drilling at Granite Flat

Dart Mining (ASX: DTM) reports that it has encountered ‘notable’ zones of alteration as well as copper and molybdenite mineralisation following a recent deep diamond drilling campaign at its Granite Flat Copper-Gold Porphyry Project in northeast Victoria.

The results, generated from three diamond holes targeting IP geophysical targets, include zones of copper and molybdenum mineralisation associated with granodiorite and quartz-feldspar porphyry.

Speaking on the results, Dart Mining Chairman James Chirnside said: “Dart has successfully completed a planned three-hole, deep diamond drilling program to test geophysical targets, identified last year, across the Granite Flat Copper-Gold project. Encouragingly, all holes encountered zones of copper and molybdenum mineralisation. Further drill testing is planned to start at the beginning of June.”

The company also notes that drill holes EMDDH006 and EMDDH007 have successfully tested chargeability anomalies, which have returned copper mineralisation intersected in varied lithologies, including basalt dykes and quartz feldspar porphyry.

In addition, hole EMDDH008 targeted a sheeted vein system with a co-incident zone of elevated resistivity, and has successfully reported the presence of multiple shear zones with high structural complexity.

The Granite Flat Project is located approximately 9km southeast of the township of Mitta Mitta, and is host to several large, strong copper-gold anomalies that have been subject to variable drilling efforts.

With the recent drilling campaign now complete, Dart reports that it will move ahead with further drill testing at the beginning of June while it awaits finalised assay results.
