Dalaroo dives further into Blue Lagoon with project expansion

Dalaroo Metals (ASX:DAL) has expanded its Blue Lagoon Rare Earth Project in southwest Greenland through the acquisition of additional licence areas adjacent to the tenure.

CEO John Morgan says expanding the project is a “logical step” in testing the scale potential of the mineralised system.

“Our work indicates that mineralised sediments may extend beyond the lagoon into offshore environments, which are recognised as favourable settings for heavy mineral concentration,” Morgan says.

“This expansion positions Dalaroo to assess what could represent a significantly larger sediment-hosted critical minerals system.”

Blue Lagoon is located within a corridor prospect for rare earth elements and other critical minerals, including zirconium, niobium, and hafnium.

The company says the expansion will help identify key geological targets while enabling a systematic evaluation of a potential critical minerals system.

Dalaroo intends to conduct low-impact exploration techniques to assess offshore potential. These include seabed sediment sampling programs, bathymetric and depth profiling surveys, and additional geochemical sampling.

As part of the exploration, the company intends to identify whether the system extends into a broader sediment-hosted critical minerals system.

Exploration Manager for Greenland and Western Australia Trystan Hughes says the current geological model supports the potential of heavy mineral-rich sediments existing beyond the lagoon and into downstream environments.

“The expansion into offshore areas represents a logical next step in testing this model, particularly where reduced energy conditions may facilitate further concentration,” Hughes says.

“This work will help refine our understanding of the scale and continuity of the broader sediment-hosted system.”

As reported by Mining.com.au earlier this week, Dalaroo appointed Hughes as Exploration Manager as the company shifts into its next phase of systematic exploration and target definition.

Dalaroo Metals is focused on building a diversified exploration portfolio for gold and critical minerals across Western Australia, Côte d’Ivoire, and Greenland.
