Cosmos Exploration (ASX:C1X) is synthesising all of the final data to rank specific target areas for an upcoming rock chip sampling program at its Lasalle Lithium Project in Quebec, Canada.
The $17.43 million market capitalisation company says a team from Waldo Geoscience is managing the helicopter-assisted rock sampling program. This includes the installation of a temporary exploration camp and also the management of experienced helicopter company Wiskair.
The program will begin in parallel with Cosmos’ maiden exploration program at Corvette Far East once the current fire restrictions have been lifted in Quebec.
This announcement comes after Cosmos identified 3 priority target areas for lithium exploration from remote sensing and geophysical surveys conducted at the project.
Cosmos highlighted 2 new ‘high-priority’ target areas that extend over a strike length of 2km to 6km and 100m to 500m wide, with each containing several anomalies.
As a result, new claims have been secured, which expands the project to 35km-square.
Commenting on the discovered targets, Cosmos Exploration Executive Chairman Jeremy Robinson says: “We are very pleased with the outcome of the remote sensing and geophysical techniques we have selected at Lasalle.
Multiple targets are now emerging with many similarities to the lithium-bearing pegmatites on Patriot Battery Metals’ (ASX:PMT) neighbouring Corvette Project justifying our recent expansion of the project area.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of the remote sensing and geophysical techniques we have selected at Lasalle”
The results of this work are invaluable in helping to fast-track and refine our exploration targeting, giving us clear vectors for our maiden helicopter-assisted rock chip sampling program.”
Cosmos Exploration is a North American lithium-focused explorer and has an extended portfolio in New South Wales and Western Australia.
On 30 June 2023, the company had $2.56 million cash at hand, according to its latest quarterly report published on 19 July 2023.
