Cosmo defines ‘extensive’ antimony zones at Bingara

Cosmo Metals (ASX:CMO) has identified extensive antimony mineralised zones at its 484.1km² Bingara Project in New South Wales following surface sampling and mapping.

The company completed surface sampling and ground truthing of historic antimony workings within the 8km long Antimony Gully trend in the northwestern portion of the project.

Initial mapping and sampling at the Antimony Gully Trend confirmed visible antimony sulphide in quartz vein breccias, with surface samples assaying up to 10.3% antimony at Plunkett & Cassidy East and 5.37% antimony at Plunkett & Cassidy West.

Managing Director Ian Prentice says the results highlight the area’s prospectivity for ‘large-scale’ antimony-gold mineralisation.

“We’re observing a high level of antimony prospectivity in a region that includes the world class Hillgrove antimony-gold deposit being developed by Larvotto Resources [ASX:LRV],” Prentice says.

“Moreover, the region was identified as having the highest antimony-gold prospectivity in the southern New England Orogen by the NSW Mines Department.

“We very much look forward to implementing the next stages of our discovery strategy at this high conviction target.”

Follow-up work includes focused soil geochemical sampling and detailed mapping to identify and prioritise drill targets.

Cosmo Metals is a gold and base metals explorer, with key projects in Western Australia and New South Wales.
