CGN Resources (ASX:CGR) has completed a high-resolution, low-level airborne magnetic and radiometric survey at the Christmas Well Project in the Leonora district of Western Australia.
The company covered 3,529km of 50m line spacing to understand Christmas Well’s lithological and structural architecture for more defined targeting.
The survey highlighted numerous litho-structural targets, improving mapping for a favourable litho-structural corridor known to host gold mineralisation along strike.
CGN says the project can be defined as a “highly prospective opportunity” from the recent survey coupled with previous regional analysis ahead of upcoming drilling.
Reverse circulation drilling will cover 4,000m at Christmas Well, targeting the Ox Tongue, Black Pudding, Sweetbread, Rocky Mountain Oyster, and Trotter prospects. CGN is planning a heritage survey for these targets.
Managing Director Stan Wholley says the company is pleased with the results returned from the magnetic survey.
“While we had anticipated the area’s high potential, high-quality historical geophysical data was limited, so commissioning this survey was essential,” Wholley says.
“The exceptional quality of the data and subsequent modelling has been a game changer for our targeting within the project.
“It not only confirms some of the previously identified target areas but, perhaps more importantly, highlights the significant potential of several conceptual greenfield targets – areas that will now become a key focus for our ongoing exploration.”
CGN Resources is focused on unlocking Western Australia’s mineral potential through its portfolio of assets across the state.
