Cazaly builds knowledge base in Goongarrie

Cazaly Resources’ (ASX:CAZ) activity at its Goongarrie Gold Project in Western Australia, has been bolstered after receiving all composited sample assays from the initial reverse circulation drilling program.

Managing Director Tara French says the first pass drill results confirmed historical drilling at the Duke of York prospect, with 12m @ 7.2 grams per tonne gold, as well as the scout hole identifying a new gold target at the Duchess prospect.

“4m @ 19g/t and 8m @ 3.8g/t gold is a great start to our work on the ground at Gonngarrie,” French says.

“Although it’s early days, with this new drilling information and reprocessed geophysics we are building our knowledge base in the area.

“Our upcoming aircore campaign will be an excellent preliminary test for new targets over 5 strike kilometres along the Menzies and Boorara Shear zones. We are just starting to uncover how much gold this belt has to offer.”

Cazaly, which has a market capitalisation of $9.22 million, says recently reprocessed aeromagnetics have highlighted the structural complexities around a string of magnetic highs near the Boorara Shear Zone and Black Flag Group contact, along trend from Goongarrie Lady to Jenny’s Reward.

Each of the structurally complex zones adjacent to the magnetic highs are associated with gold mineralisation at Jenny’s Reward gold mine, Duke of York, Duchess, and the Goongarrie Lady gold mine.

The new aeromagnetic data processing was completed across the entire project and has highlighted cross-cutting structures and inflections that were not visible on the original datasets.

Cazay says the new data required further interrogation and interpretation, however it could prove to be a critical tool for target generation and providing a better understanding of the structural controls on the existing gold deposits in the area.

The latest drill program, completed in late June, comprised 18 holes for 1,917m. The program aimed to validate and follow-up historical intercepts and test other prospective areas for gold mineralisation.

Cazaly is planning to conduct reverse circulation drilling to test gold anomalies uncovered during the aircore program, as well as to further test anomalous gold results from the initial drilling campaign.

In conjunction, Cazaly will continue stakeholder engagement and regulatory approvals.

The Goongarrie Project, located in the northeastern Goldfields, consists of 70km2 of greenstone sequence within the Kalgoorlie Terrain. Goongarrie covers 12km of the Bardoc Tectonic Zone which is the northern extensions of the Boulder-Lefroy Shear Zone to the south, which is considered one of the richest gold mineralised structures in the Yilgarn Craton.

Cazaly Resources is a junior mineral explorer focused on discoveries in Australia, Canada, and Namibia.
