29Metals (ASX:29M) has awarded a four-year underground mining contract to Byrnecut Australia for the Gossan Valley mine at its Golden Grove project in Western Australia following a competitive mining contract tender process.
As the incumbent mining contractor for the Gossan Hill and Scuddles mines at Golden Grove, the company says the Gossan Valley contract enables operational and commercial synergies, which include the ability to share equipment and personnel across Golden Grove mining operations.
The Gossan Valley project remains on track for first ore by the end of 2026.
When in production, Gossan Valley is expected to enhance the Golden Grove life-of-mine plan by providing: a replacement, higher grade, ore source for declining Scuddles ore production; mining simplicity as an independent and relatively shallow mining front; and potential to extend Gossan Valley Mineral Resources estimates, which remain open at depth.
29Metals is a copper-focused base and precious metals mining company.
It has two key assets – Golden Grove in Western Australia (copper, zinc, gold, and silver) and Capricorn Copper in Queensland (copper and silver).
The company says it has a pipeline of organic growth opportunities, including identified productivity and operational improvements, and in-mine and near-mine growth opportunities at Golden Grove and Capricorn Copper.
29Metals also holds a portfolio of exploration interests, including regional tenement interests surrounding Capricorn Copper and Golden Grove, and a strategic tenement package and exploration project in Redhill located in Chile, the world’s largest copper-producing country.
