Brightstar Resources (ASX:BTR) has achieved the highest-ever tonnage and gold production at its Laverton underground mines, 35km southeast of Laverton in Western Australia’s Goldfields.
Brightstar’s March 2026 campaign delivered about 140 kilo tonnes of ore grading at 2 grams per tonne of gold. This produced a reconciled 7,900 ounces of recovered gold at 89.1% recovery.
Those tonnages and contained gold parcels are the highest the company has ever recorded since the ore purchase agreement (OPA) with Genesis Minerals (ASX:GMD) took effect in March 2025.
The OPA helps to develop and refine all Brightstar systems and processes for owner-operating a multi-asset mining business. The agreement also de-risks the next phase of the company’s growth plans.
“The OPA has delivered over $138 million in gross revenue, with the free cash flow generated facilitating significant value-creation activities such as the development of the Fish mine and construction of the broader Fish-Lord Byron project site, including the establishment of the 170-person camp, ancillary infrastructure, and haul roads,” Managing Director Alex Rovira says.
“This represents a significant sunk cost and infrastructure advantage which is all ready to be further leveraged into future production growth… [and] sets a strong platform for Brightstar to execute on the construction of our own processing plant infrastructure and the commencement of mining at Lord Byron in the second half of calendar 2027 — ahead of the targeted first gold through the Brightstar mill in the middle of 2027.”
Brightstar Resources is an emerging gold producer with assets in Western Australia’s Goldfields and Murchison regions.
